First of all, I think we should question the self diagnostic validity. Second of all, if your mental intelligence did decrease, how can you feel it? Are you sure it’s not just old age? Or perhaps it is all the psychological effect of thoughts.
Absolutely, the diagnostic validity should be questioned, as it would be difficult to prove. This has been the stance of many surgeons, who do not bring the issue up prior to surgery.
As far as feeling the decrease in mental ability, it is not unlike the desrease one might feel when one is tired. There are these extended moments of fogginess as well, and, while I was experiencing these before taking the Budeprion, it is a possible side effect.
It could be old age, but that came on rather quickly, and I’m only 48.
Concerning the psychological effects of thoughts, I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I sure have had thoughts most moments of most days of my life. The fact that they have been unfocussed and sort of sprayed like the bullets from a tommy gun could have some effect.
It’s not as though I sit around obsessing over the state of my onion, that’s just what I was inspired to consider while reading an entry in this site. At any rate, the questions remain.
