Now, given zero data about the OmniNerd demographic, why would you assume the voters are white? The only way to come to that conclusion would be to follow the stereotype that

• #black america can’t afford Internet access and therefore wouldn’t vote
• #black america wouldn’t come to a website about nerds and therefore wouldn’t vote.

So, if I’m wrong in "guessing about your assumptions" on what basis did you make your conclusion? Because it’s clearly a guess. And your own assumption that white people would call black people rascists shows that’s exactly what you believe.

You would? Actually, that might be a pretty good bet, depending on your definition of "hardly any." Would you consider ~4 people "hardly any?" As of the writing of this comment, there have been 32 votes cast; 4/32 is 12.5%. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the percentage of the population who identifies themselves as "Black or African American alone or in combination" in 2000 was 12.9%. So, if at least four black people have voted in this poll, it would be a roughly proportionate representation of the (U.S.) population as a whole. Four people isn’t very many, so I’d say that’s at least possible, maybe even likely. Now, I don’t know how many black people actually voted in this poll, and I have no idea if the OmniNerd poll-voting population is in any way demographically representative of the U.S. population. But at least my prediction is loosely based on facts, and not just a knee-jerk, weasel-word, stereotypical wild guess.

Wait, are you saying that the mere act of expressing an opinion regarding racism is itself racist? So is a black person racist if he votes for "white" as displaying the most racist tendencies? Or is it just racist for a white person to say that about black people? That doesn’t make any sense, logically speaking, and could itself be interpreted as a racist line of reasoning (i.e., black people, by virtue of being black, are incapable of being racist at all).

They may be fighting (in some places) for equal treatment by individuals, but they were granted equal rights by the 14th Amendment. But the fact that they were treated poorly in the past (or even in the present) has exactly nothing to do with their own tendency to display racism.

The only part of your post that I agree with is that, technically speaking, ALL of the votes are "racist," because the poll itself is asking one to make a generalization based on race alone.

slaves were not always treated badly, they were thought of as nice expensive equuipment, not rag dolls to beat up. they used them for work nothing more and nothing less. so go ahead and whine for something you never went through

there were white slaves and everyone had to work hard back then, not just the black people. Most white didn’t have enough money to buy a slave and black people get jobs over white people just cause there black. If they want to complain about the being slaves in the 1800’s then we should get a ship and send them back to Africa. i bet they would want to come back within a day

I think that anyone that was or is a slave deserves more than any one else but people who are not slaves or have not had to fight during the civil rights movement need to stop living on other people’s work. Today most peopl are not being treated differntly because of their skin color, they are being treated differntly because of lack of education, and morals.
