I am currently working on implementing processing credit cards with ruby on rails. I have read your article and followed these intructions. However I have a problem, which I cannot find solution to. I work in test mode and I try to use the error producing credit card number: 4222222222222. But instead of receiving errors, the gateway response is as follows: "Success: This transaction has been approved".

If you look at note 7 in the article, there’s a link to the Active Merchant API. Page 51 should be helpful to you, especially the last paragraph. Essentially 4222222222222 is error (or reason) code producing, not failure producing. The message you’re getting could be correct depending on the response code you’re testing (listed on page 26 of API).
