Brandon, you have created some very unique and thought provoking artwork. I do love the vibrant colors and visible brushstrokes. In this batch, I am partial to Horizontal Blood, although I am not particularly fond of the title of the piece. It is alive with subtle movement…a radiant energy. It reminds me of the play of shadow and light found in the hollows of the Appalachians. A fall sunset with its ethereal shadows, a haunting of trees, a wrestling of fear, an aroma lifting. Thank you for the "eye candy".
I wouldn’t say that your paintings evoked THAT much emotion out of me, but I liked Dad’s office. I think it’s the texture that makes it stand out to me. I see subtle texture in the other paintings but the texture of that one just seems to fit. I’m not sure if it’s the way you photographed it or not. If this is the case you should photograph all your art in that particular fashion.
I don’t mean to be picky, but what exactly constitutes art? Dictionary.com constitutes it to be: Human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature. I mean Piet Mondrian pops out a few black lines and his work his hanging in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Does there have to be some forethought involved or can you just kick a painting with a toenail and call it "personality". I’m not trying to belittle your work at all. I definitely think your work supplements nature in one way or another. I have little to no art background and am just posing the question to see if anybody really knows.
By the way Brandon, as soon as I get comfortable in my new position here in Colorado I intend on throwing some art work up on O-nerd too. Thanks for the inspiration.

Check this one, it’s a really unique piece (homophone unintended) of "art" :)
