Even in modern medicine, people use clean Maggots and Leeches to clean wounds and help Blood circulation.

Makes Me Suspicious
I don't like it when people or researchers try to add some crediblity to their find by saying 'has been in use since ancient times.' Know what, in ancient times people also thought bleeding out was a useful remedy and anathetisia consisted of smashing the patient over the head with a rock. Let's just have modern research and the results.
