Sooo ... does this mean there is a better chance of the planet being wiped out by a big - ass space rock than Global Warming actually occurring like Al Gore says?

Well, a big rock would be a quicker way to go I guess, but climate change isn't a question of "one day it might happen," it's already happening whether we like it or not. It's just a question of how bad we let it get before humanity stops acting like a bunch of drunken frat boys and takes some responsibility for its actions on this planet.
