Nobody in USA Should Care ... Right?

Comment comment by VnutZ on 08 August 2007

Just posing a thought ... if you are true to your Christian god, you really shouldn't care whether or not the Buddhists are being oppressed because they're just pagans worshipping a false idol.

(Excuse me while I pull on the full regalia of my arch-angelness.)

All people are made in the likeness of God (Cap 'G') all people are were made by God or as I like to think God's artwork. Any person tortured or killed is a destruction of something beautiful and important, this includes demeaningor harsh speech that breaks 'the bruised reed.' (Jesus guy had a way with words.)

All this falls down for the difficult times and people like the 9-11 planner in the news now or the VT whackjob whose name I refuse to remember.

No. "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." This would require empathy towards even someone with differing beliefs. That's the theory. The reality is, even though I care enough to think they should be left alone; am I going to Tibet or China to do something about it? No.
