Most people want to be on camera

and all people want to feel safe.

I feel safer with the cameras going

but others fear the cameras themselves.

There would be less nose picking

but there would be more showing off.

I'd like to see a way to hook into the systems

so the old folks at home could sit and watch life going on.

So long as it is kept in public places only, I'm for it.

Technology marches on.

There are many network cameras that because they have their own IP address, they are open to Google's search bot. Smart people put a user name and password on them, but there are many that are open and searchable.

The coolest finds can be panned, zoomed and otherwise controlled from the comfort of your home! (Many of these, especially the Axis cams, require an ActiveX control to be installed.)

As a side note I wonder what the legality is of doing a Google search, simply clicking on a link and viewing and controlling whatever you find somewhere in the world?
