RE: Here we go again.
Its a shame that religion makes Christianity so complicated. I am a Christian, and have absolutely no doubt in my mind of the authenticity of it all. I have seen miracles - and I wasn't high. Of course science and God don't fit in together, God is above science. He made it all.
You mention that Jesus wasn't the first to do 'miracles'. You're right. He wasn't even to be the first who claimed to be God, or to be raised from the dead prior to ascending back into heaven. So why do we believe? Where are those other religions now? Who, except historians, study the doctrines? None. Surely the fact that Christianity is still a major religion today counts for something with you? If not, how about the historic evidence - not in the Bible - that backs up what the Bible does say?
The church has made many many mistakes over the years. The church is full of hypocrites who will hurt us. The church isn't perfect. But if it was - would we fit in? I wouldn't!
Any thoughts?
