I was amazed to learn that roughly 55% of married Pakistanis in the UK are married to their first cousins, and that 75% of marriages between UK-based and Pakistan-based Muslims are between first cousins. I had always known this practice was relatively common, but not that it was endemic.

I also learnt recently that 75% of UK Muslims derive their primary source of income from state welfare benefits. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc..?
