The landslide begins

Comment comment by twabulldogg on 10 October 2007

To prove that this is not just a British fad, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor announced that they are no longer associated with a record label.

The official announcement is on the NIN website.

It really does... TechDirt has an article remarking the same trend.

I wonder if this will ultimately drive (physical) album prices up or down. I personally like to have the album, art, etc., in physical form and not just digital.

Regardless, it seems like a great move, especially for the popular bands that don't really need a record label to project them to the world.
