There are some really horrific examples of this going on as we speak. Connecticut is NOTORIOUS for this abuse! Google the name Daniel Gross or the name Maydelle Trambarulo and see some real examples..
I absolutely agree. Who says we don't need heros. These people need help. Guardianship laws are so outrageous that you don't believe them at first. Check it out.
The National Association to Stop Guardian Abuse is a non-profit civil rights organization focusing on abusive private and public court appointed guardians and conservators who misuse the court system to benefit themselves.
My father Ruby Cohen was victimized by a Florida guardian who cost our family their entire life savings and nearly my dad’s life. My story was recently published in "Blood Tastes Lousey with Scotch. I began this organization in June of 2006 with four other victims and within six months our membership has increased ten times with families from more than 25 state across the country who have watched their loved ones suffer as they were exploited and injured while under guardianship control.
Guardian abuse is not a “fashionable” cause. It is an insidious new white collar crime that has been flourishing for over twenty years, and is very rarely covered by the media. This process begins in the courtroom and ends in a cemetery, while guardians and their attorneys suck the blood from the savings of vulnerable citizens who become wards of the state and another burden to tax payers.
The National Association to Stop Guardian Abuse is forming a coalition of professionals in the elder law community to fight and change the court system and bring these criminals to justice!

Guardian Abuse
I agree that we as a society should be concerned about the growing trend of elder abuse. Elder abuse is a crying shame. But it is not always family that is putting the elderly in the old folks homes. Many victims of abuse, neglect and exploitation are under the “safe protection” of a guardian. Guardians routinely force their victims into nursing homes so they can sell off the home and personal belongings. The guardian then over bills, double bills, downright fraudulently bills until all the victims’ hard earned money and life savings is in the guardian’s pockets. Many victims are isolated from family and friends. The victims who survive are left penniless, with broken spirits and failing health. And when the guardian has it all, they move on to their next victim, leaving behind a trail of abuse. But sadly, many of these perpetrators are never held accountable. It’s a national shame and tragedy that survives in the darkness. Please consider doing an article on guardianship abuse and perhaps bring much needed light to the subject.
