When I submitted this poll, the question was originally worded something like, "The amount of your employer's time per day you spend on OmniNerd." All of that probably didn't fit into the question space. I actually submitted the poll sort of "tongue-in cheek", expecting it to be changed to something along the lines of, "How much of your employer's time do you spend doing other things besides what you are paid for?", which probably would have been a question that would apply to more people, since not everyone works at a computer, or has computer access at work. The question came to me one day when I noticed that a lot of OmniNerd activity happens during the day, and since a fair amount of people seem to live in North America it got me to wondering how much of it was being done "on the clock". I realize some of you are across the world, or work a different shift, which of course accounts for some of what would be daytime activity from my perspective which is Eastern Time. The whole question makes me wonder if computers at work, especially the ones with internet access, are really making us more productive; or if the "distraction factor" negates a good portion of any productivity gained. I'm sure some of our IT guys that work for larger organizations have many thoughts and stories about this issue.
