I would personally like to see some sort of testing prior to qualifying for the right to vote. Perhaps the ability to demonstrate working knowledge of current issues and the electoral process. Either that or reserve it for land owning males.

This brings up a good question. Why are people so scared of qualifiers for the right to vote? Is it really that unreasonable to expect a person to have to be able t read in order to make decisions for their fellow man? I understand that at one time restrictions were just meant to keep black people out of the ballot box, but we're past those days.
