That would be a helluva high water table. The highest water table I've been around has been 3 feet, and it flooded every spring. It would depend on 1. the height of the area your building on compared to the area around it, 2. local vegetation and it's ability to cope with ground saturation, 3. drainage.

I've wanted to do something like this for awhile now. This article just might inspire me. Thanks. And it was funny to boot. One more thing - if you have a high water table, do you have put down a lot more gravel?
