This is a great approach to understanding Complex Analysis.

Each idea is not only developed in standard mathematical notation, but also through an excellent collection of diagrams that help the reader understand the deeper idea.

The author introduces the idea of an "amplitwist" as a kind of mental handle on the local effect of a continuous transformation being studied. That, combined with the visual help provided by the extensive diagrams, helps the reader get a deeper grasp on the concepts than any other analysis book I've read.
