i hate to sound insensitive, but why is it that we feel the need to get so caught up in what our celebreties are doing?..seriously, why is amy winehouse continuing to dominate headlines all over the world...i mean, it sucks that she got caught smoking crack on video...and that her marriage is so messed up...but please, it isn't like she is the only person who has these problems, let alone the only celebrity...and not to be a music elitist or anything, but she isn't exactly the biggest thing in music history...there are plenty of other musicians or random celebrities that have a lot more impact on the radio listenings or tv watchings of the general public...is it really worth 7 days of nonstop coverage because she got caught doing drugs?..she is a decent artist, but short of her rehab song, i have no idea what else she does...and i think the majority of the general population is in the same boat with me on this...

and i especially hate to speak ill of the dead, so that is not what i am doing...it is truly sad that heath ledger passed away...but let's put this in perspective...was it really such a momumental news occassion that CNN, FOXNews, and MSNBC had to interrupt their regularly scheduled coverage to announce his death?..especially when u consider that CNN was doing their campaign coverage?..are u really trying to tell me that the american puplic cares more about the past of ledger than the future of our country?..i can understand it happening in the middle of ellen or oprah or jerry springer, but CNN?..they can talk about it during current events, but it doesn't need to interupt current programming...but again, my sypmathies out to the friends and family of ledger...i don't mean to sound disrespectful, i just think we need to put things in perspective...

i just think many people have become so disenfranchised with their daily lives that they choose to live vacariously through the lives of celebrities...how much of our days is spent talking about something that happened to somebody we don't even know and most likely have zero chance of even meeting?..

i will say this, when amy winehouse starts using her tabloid fame for what she perceives as the betterment of humanity (and i don't care if it is to save the desert shrew, as long as she is trying to be helpful) then my opinion of her will change...as for now, if you are not doing something worth while other than being famous, i just don't feel like u deserve constant attention from the media...
