The Fate of My Mitt Romney for President Bumper Sticker

Pencil blog by Brandon on 08 February 2008, tagged as politics and humor

Now that Mitt Romney, my choice for PUSA, has suspended his campaign, I am faced with one very critical decision: What do I do with the Mitt Romney for President bumper sticker currently stuck to the side of my office filling cabinet?

I've seen people driving around with "John Kerry for President" bumper stickers before, and I always wonder the same thing: Are they 1) in denial, 2) too lazy to scrape it off, or 3) intentionally leaving it up to show they supported the other guy?

I don't fall into the first two categories, which leaves me with #3 - and how good of a reason is that? It would, after all, be quite ironic to stick to my guns in supporting a candidate who made a point of throwing in the towel when he saw it would be best for his party and country (and, of course, when it was mathematically very improbable he would win).

So, for now, the sticker sits on my desk while I decide it's fate. Sad-yet-proud little banner, only time will tell if you will retire to a landfill (or perhaps a plastic tub in the attic), or if you will return home, defiant, to the side of my office filing cabinet.

I'm really pulling for that bumper sticker.
