In a mismatch of Matthews, actor Matthew McConaughey has been mistakenly named by People magazine as the ‘sexiest man alive’ for 2005. While the actor is accomplished with recent bouts of fame for movies such as Sahara and Two For The Money, his sexiness pales to the true ‘sexiest man alive,’ OmniNerd’s own Matthew Vea.
The competition was grueling with such challenges as midget tossing, fashion walk-offs, genome splicing and stand up comedy. OmniNerd site designer Mark McBride stumbled early in the swimsuit competition with a tragic speedo malfunction, allowing such celebrities as Patrick Dempsey and Terrence Howard to take an early lead. In the end, only Matthews Vea and McConaughey remained in deadlock, a decision boiling down to examining each contestant’s NerdRank. In an accidental exchange of name ballots, McConaughey was named victorious for 2005 despite his NR0 status. An embittered Vea declared, ’We’ll see who is sexiest when the Great Purge comes … we’ll meet again.’

If Matthew McConaughey poses for the camera lounging around and that wins him the title of Sexiest Man Alive, perhaps Matthew Vea should have submitted a different set of photographs of himself.
Obviously, you can’t get more laid back and sexy than being held up by an flotation device in a pool. Was this picture in contention?
