Music Purchase Log: December 2009
Albums I purchased in December 2009:
- AFI – Crash Love – Another really good album from AFI.
- August Burns Red – Constellations – I discovered these guys at the Underoath/Emery concert. Very good show, and very good album. (It’s along the lines of As I Lay Dying.)
- Atlas Sound – Logos – This indie rock / electronica album is highly regarded by most online reviewers, but I’m still working on figuring it out.
- Band of Horses – Everything All the Time – Not quite as awesome as their latest album, but this earlier body of work still has the distinct Band of Horses sound … and is still a good listen.
- Enter Shikari – Common Dreads – Whoa. Seriously … whoa. I love it when I find people who don’t sound like anyone else I have.
- In Flames – Jester Race / Black Ash Inheritance – Reloaded – A good look into the first couple of releases by a band that helped shape today’s metal/hardcore scene.
- Julian Casablancas – Phrases for the Young – He seems to write better songs by himself. Still has a similar sound, but it avoids the drone that sometimes drives me away from The Strokes.
- Peter Bjorn and John – Living Things
- Shadows Fall – The Art of Balance – Solid. Like their other stuff.
- Sufjan Stevens – The BQE and Songs for Christmas

Everything All The Time is a classic…I like Cease to Begin, but it pales in comparison to EAT. Just my opinion
