IAEA Report on Iranian Nuclear Program
The IAEA is slated to release a relatively damning report on the state of Iran’s nuclear development. This report will be releasing far more detail than IAEA has previously unveiled which will more or less directly charges the Iranians are developing nuclear weapons in contradiction to the country’s claims. Evidence varies and remains to be seen, but hints have alluded to the report detailing nuclear modelling and computer studies Iranians have performed that have nothing to do with energy production. Prior reports have not been so direct at calling out Iran’s programs as having such a slant towards weaponization.

Naive! by Occams
Of course Iran is developing nuclear weapons. No country tells the truth when national security is an issue: least of all the USA.
It is supremely naive to base any decisions on promises of that kind.
It may not be true that they will ever have them, but the possibility is enough for most purposes.
Iran believes that it needs nuclear weapons for precisely the same reasons that the USA thinks it does. It is the same for every country that has them, whether they admit it or not.
The bloody things have a very high cost and no country would pay it if it did not believe that it had to.
There is no application for them other than deterrence.
