Dancing in Silence
There is a new way to party sweeping Eurpope. Dancing in Silence involves a club issuing wireless headphones to all of it’s patrons, who then get out on the floor and are all dancing to the same music. Probably a quite eerie site upon first encounter. Currently the clubs have only had a single channel to listen to, although efforts are underway to coordinate 6 different stations that the headphones could be tuned in to.
This could have unprecedented effect on "social businesses." You could combine any number of previously noisy events into one. Imagine a Starbucks with a dance club in it. You can choose to sit down and have a coffee, or breakdance to your heart’s content.
This could also have a small effect of breaking down a few high-school like social walls. By playing different types of music that are set to the same beat, you could presumably have one person listening to rock music, and another to a different type of music, and still dance with each other.

I wish I had tickets to go see a room full of people wearing headphones dancing around in complete silence! I seriously think that is the most hilarious idea I have heard in a very long time!
I guess it could catch on, as it would allow for a more versatile use of space. People could dance while everyone else is, in theory, reading, talking, or relaxing. I say "in theory" because I doubt my own ability to do any one of those activities while surrounded by a bunch of weirdos dancing around with no audible music. I would just sit and laugh…

YES! Now I can listen to NIN while I’m slow dancing with my wife while she is listening to "The Wind Beneath My Wings" and not feel like committing suicide!

Only for nerd dancers by Brandon
It doesn’t seem like club-goers would want to mess up their hair to put headphones on. Plus, aren’t the best dancers usually the ones that go nuts? How do their headphones stay on? Unless they work in some sort of headband that wouldn’t suck up all of the dancer’s mojo, I don’t see them going for it…
